A Chance to Celebrate Together

Dear Parishioners,

We are moving toward the summer months. There are many celebrations that will occupy our time during May. But we will also have a special celebration this summer that we will never experience again. We will have the 250th Birthday of the United States. Our country is very divided at the present time, but Independence Day is a day that can draw us together.

The Sacred Heart Reunion will be a chance to begin the observance of our country’s birth. The reunion takes place on Sunday, June 28th. We begin with an outdoor Mass at 11:00 a.m. Then we will enjoy food and drink with the return of St. Damien’s Belgian Brew. There will be raffles and entertainment and for the first time a talent contest.

Everyone in the parish has a special task which is to get the word out and invite people to join this parish celebration. We are going to recognize the class that graduated from Seton School in 2001 and to also recognize the class of 1976 that graduated from Sacred Heart Grade School.

Put June 28th on your calendar. It should be a wonderful commemoration of the freedoms we hold dear and of the rich history of Sacred Heart Parish.

Blessings,

Fr. Mark
