Annual Financial Report
We have many reasons to feel blessed as we look at the past year at Sacred Heart. Our parish community continues to show signs of strength. Our parochial schools and religious education programs have grown. We continue to have many programs that help us to become better Christians. We also continue to have generous donors who provide for our material needs.
In the past year we paid off the debt we incurred from all the construction of the last decade. We also had a successful “His Heart, Our Hands” program during Lent. Our offertory collections increased. This allowed us to raise employee pay and to undertake capital projects that we would have otherwise deferred. We recarpeted the church, we insulated the church attic, and we were able to make unexpected repairs without having to ask for extra funds.
A lot of other parishes do not have any reserves but move from crisis to crisis, wondering how they will pay their bills. We are most blessed with material resources. We try to manage them well. I thank our Finance Committee and DeAnn Gandia, our Finance Officer, for their diligence and especially for their sound advice. Our staff deserves great credit as well for their generosity.
The future always offers new financial challenges. But with God’s help we will find the resources we need to grow our ministry and be a beacon of faith in our local community.
Thanks for loving Jesus the way you do and supporting Sacred Heart.
Blessings,
Fr. Mark
