OCIA News: September 8th

Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) completed their summer inquiry sessions and are now starting the weekly sessions. We had numerous seekers of all ages and backgrounds contact us regarding Catholicism. Our two summer sessions brought us a larger attendance than in recent years. This is good news for the Catholic faith and our parish. 

Overall, there was an increase in Catholicism across our country and diocese. The interest level here at Sacred Heart is showing signs of following this trend. In speaking to inquirers this year, their reasons for seeking out the Catholic Church vary, but most are wanting to be part of a faith community and are seeking a closer relationship to God.

There is still time to refer someone to OCIA. You may have a family member or friend who has shown interest. We meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. in the AV Room of Culemans Fellowship Hall. Our fall sessions begin September 8th, but we will accept new seekers even after we start.
