What is the Annual Diocesan Appeal?
The Annual Diocesan Appeal is an invitation to all of the faithful in the Diocese of Peoria to contribute for the common good and so to impact lives beyond the scope of any individual parish. Every parishioner is prayerfully asked for financial support.
What does the money fund?
Vocations: Covers expenses in recruitment as well as seminary formation.
Evangelization: Supports five Newman Centers where many college students discover or rediscover their faith.
Catholic Charities: Serves our brothers and sisters in need with food, backpacks for children, and diapers for newborns. This appeal will help open five new regional offices to serve even more people.
Parish Support: Programs like parish leadership formation, regional evangelization summits, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd formation, Genesis Retreats for couples preparing for marriage, and next year through the Rescue Project.
Musicians Seminar: Serves by building music programs in parishes.
Catechist Formation Retreat: A special retreat for catechists, teachers, directors of religious education, principals and priests from across the diocese.
Emmaus Days: Programs for boys and young men. Planting seeds of priestly vocations and being open to discovering God’s will for their lives through outdoor fun and prayer.
