Sacraments at Sacred Heart

Our 8th graders who are receiving Confirmation in April and our 2nd graders who are receiving the Eucharist for the first time in May had their Rite of Acceptance in December.

The 8th grade Confirmation Retreat is on January 31st. The Sacred Heart 8th graders are coming together with the candidates from Christ the King, Moline; Our Lady of Peace, Orion; St. Pius, St. Mary, and Sacred Heart, Rock Island; St. Ambrose, Milan; and St. Patrick, Andalusia. There is a total of about 120 young people preparing for Confirmation. They will attend Mass, receive Reconciliation, and have break-out sessions with amazing speakers.

Our 2nd graders have their First Holy Communion Retreat on February 21st. The 2nd graders from Seton and our Religious Education program come together to make their banner, create their Blessing Cup, and enjoy other activities as they prepare to receive Communion for the first time. First Reconciliation for our 2nd graders is March 7th, 2026.

We also have twelve students in our RCIC Program who are past the normal age of Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation, and will receive their sacraments at the Easter Vigil.
