Our Lady of Guadalupe - 2025

Our parish community gathered to celebrate Día de la Virgen de Guadalupe, honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe and her profound significance in the Catholic faith, on December 14th. Coffee Café was hosted by our Hispanic Ministry, who thoughtfully incorporated a Hispanic flair into the menu, serving enchiladas, rice and beans, champurrado (a traditional Mexican hot chocolate), and Mexican bread, creating a welcoming and festive atmosphere for all.

The celebration took place during the 9:15 a.m. Mass and included a moving homage by two traditional Danza groups: Danza de Santa Maria and Danza Sagrado Corazón de Maria. A danza is a traditional Mexican dance form often performed to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe, combining music, ritual, and intricate movements that tell the story of her apparition to Saint Juan Diego in 1531. The dancers’ colorful attire and symbolic gestures brought history and devotion to life, inspiring the congregation and connecting everyone to this cherished cultural and spiritual tradition.

In addition, our Religious Education children performed a small reenactment, helping to illustrate the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe in an engaging and meaningful way. Following Mass, parishioners were invited to continue the celebration with food and fellowship. Together, these moments of prayer, tradition, and community made for a meaningful and joyful celebration for our parish family, honoring faith, culture, and togetherness.
