21st Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Parishioners,

In 1982 a group was established in our parish so that those who were retired could gather to socialize. A lot of different people have participated through the last 35 years, but as with all organizations, leadership changes and members drop out or die. Things need to be renewed and refreshed as different generations comes along.

Maybe we do not think we are old enough to join such a group. Maybe we want to do something stimulating and interesting if we were to join. Whatever the case may be, I believe that this is a wonderful opportunity to build community among our senior members. Notice I did not say elderly or old.

We need new ideas. Do you want to be involved? Do you think that there is more to church then simply coming to Mass on Sunday? Do you want to make new friends? If you answered yes to any of these questions please sign up on the lists we will be having in the vestibule the next few weeks.

There will be a brainstorming session on Thursday September 14th. Come and participate so that we can make this an exciting year for this group. The first order of business will be to select a catchy name that will stimulate interest.

Mark this date on your calendar. We will see you there.

Blessings,

Fr. Mark

P.S. A week ago we replaced three HVAC units on the top of Culemans Hall. We have now replaced all the units on the top of that building. A picture of the technicians installing these units is below. The generosity of people who donated to our Heart to Heart Fund has allowed this work to be done. The equipment replaced was used well past its expected life span. To keep repairing it did not make sense. If we keep up with maintenance it will be much cheaper for our parish in the long run.
