John the Baptist Baptizes Jesus
For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.
Under ordinary circumstances, Church canon states that parents are to baptize their infants within the first few weeks after birth. Parents seeking baptism for their child must be registered and financially supporting the parish for 4 months before scheduling the Baptism. Preparation class is mandatory, and only one class is required. Classes are held on the third Monday of the months of March, June, September, and December. Classes are held at Culemans Hall at 7:00 p.m. Please call the Parish Center at (309)762-2362 to register, so that ample materials are made available for the class. These classes are in English only. For classes in Spanish, special arrangements will be made. Classes are arranged by Deacon Dennis DeVooght (or for Spanish, Sara Campos).
If you need a copy of a baptismal record, click the link to the right "Request For Baptismal Certificate". Complete the form and click "Submit" which sends the request to the Lee Parish Center staff. Your request will be handled promptly, and a copy will be sent to the name and address on the form or be available for pickup, whichever you declare.
